Scorecard:Haslingden v Ramsbottom

DateLine: 6th June 2008

A weakened Ramsbottom team were trounced in their 20/20 encounter at Haslingden, with the added worry of a bad injury to veteran bowler Mick Haslam.

Whilst bowling his second over, attempting to stop a ball driven straight at him from Haslingden pro David Bandy, he was struck on the head and needed first aid treatment on the pitch before walking into an ambulance for precautionary x-rays.

With Simon Read unavailable, Chris Read, winning the toss and electing to bat whilst there was still some sunshine around, the visiting side started well. After striking three powerful 4's Phil Hayes hooked at one too many. David Bell then took the score forward, with Chris Read holding up one end. Sub pro Fielding was run out going for a second, then with Read's departure after a sprightly 31, the innings collapsed, seven wickets going down for just 28 runs.

Steve Dearden and Bandy made hay off the Rammy bowlers, especially after Mick Haslam's accident, and despite losing their pro bowled by Chris Read, they romped home with 6.1 overs to spare.
