DateLine: 28th November 2008
South Africa fought back well through Ashwell Prince and Mark Boucher on the second day of the second test match against Bangladesh at SuperSport Park in Centurion, after having being pegged back in the first session or so. Replying to Bangladeshs 250 all out in the first inning, the hosts ended the day at 357/5, as both Prince and Boucher slammed unbeaten centuries and were involved in an unbroken 223-run sixth wicket stand.

Resuming at their overnight score of 20/1, skipper Graeme Smith left early with the score on 47, LBW to Mahbubul Alam. Jacques Kallis hasnt been going through a great batting phase in his career, and the same continued, as he could manage only 24 off 72 deliveries before falling to Shakib Al Hasan. Hasan went on to pick up a couple more wickets of Hashim Amla, and A.B. de Villiers, to reduce the South Africans to 134/5 and in a danger of conceding a first inning lead. Amla continued with his good form and scored a 71.
It was here that the duo of Prince and Boucher joined hands and rescued the Proteas ship from sinking. Prince was surprisingly the aggressive partner in the stand, but both slammed many boundaries 30 fours and a six in all to get to respective hundreds.
At the close, the South Africans had a lead of 107 runs, but with only the tail to follow, the tourists could draw some solace from the fact that an early wicket could restrict the South African lead to manageable proportions.
