The Indian national selectors have announced the 30 member squad for the ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2009 to be held in England.

 

Ravichandran Ashwin, Naman Ojha, Abhishek Nayyar and Bengal’s promising wicketkeeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha were some of the newcomers that were announced in the team. Joginder Sharma and Sreesanth, who were part of the winning squad on South Africa were left out from the list of probables. Sreesanth is still recovering from the hip injury that he sustained in the last season of the IPL while Joginder Sharma also has some injury concerns.
