Biography: | He was known as Viscount Pevensey as the son of 2nd Earl of Sheffield, and succeeded as 3rd Earl of Sheffield in April 1876. He was MP for East Sussex 1857-1865. He provided the funds for the purchase of the Sheffield Shield trophy in Australia. |
