Biography:Styled Marquess of Granby from 1888 until August 1906 when he succeeded his father as 8th Duke of Rutland. MP for Melton (Leics) 1885-95; private secretary to Prime Minister 1885-88. Succeeded by writ of acceleration as 8th Baron Manners, becoming a member of the House of Lords 1896. Appointed KG 1918. MCC president 1904-05.
