Ahmed Mustafa was born at Lucknow, India, on March 7, 1944. Ahmed's career was cut short after a road accident in his youth. He only played 16 first-class matches representing Karachi Blues, Karachi Whites and other teams. He scored 524 runs at an average of 24.00 with 110 being his highest score and only century. He also hit three half-centuries. He became famous by founding the Cricket Coaching Centre (CCC), the first-ever cricket academy in Pakistan in 1987. The Centre produced three Test cricketers, Azam Khan, Faisal Iqbal and Owais Shah. The CCC, was initially set up at the Aga Khan Gymkhana, then moved to a bungalow in Depot Lines before finally shifting to the National Stadium in 2003. It continued to offer coaching to the talented youngsters free of cost.
