Match notes
Dehring, dropped on 3 and again shortly after he had passed his century scored his runs out of 269 to record the highest individual innings in all Championships matches to date. The first innings points assured Western Australia of their first Championships win while the loss pushed New South Wales back into third place. The Western Australian batting and the New South Wales bowling each add to 353 and it is believed that a further two runs should have been shown in byes and/or leg byes, the total of Sundries not having been extended in the scorer's sheets.
