'In a match played on the Felstead School ground on the 15th August, between Charlton Park and Felstead School (Long Vacation) Club, A.H. Pease, bowling slow under-hand for Charlton Park, killed a swallow with the ball, which the batsman afterwards played. The bird, which is being preserved, will be hung in the pavillion of the Charlton Park Club.' (Cricket, 30th August 1888)
