AW Short and PJ Holland added 163 in 188 minutes for the second wicket in the Wairarapa first innings
RN Wylie and DM Crombie added 104 in 163 minutes for the seventh wicket in the Wairarapa first innings
BD Smith and CS Partridge added 78 in 71 minutes for the ninth wicket in the Hutt Valley first innings
Late on the third day Hutt Valley started bowling underarm as a protest against Wairarapa not declaring. The batsmen left the field to consult with their captain who then declared. Hutt Valley decided not to bat and forfeited their second innings so Wairarapa won the game outright.
