Notes
--> Burnley batted on after winning
--> D Smalley passed his previous highest score of 52 in Lancashire League matches
--> W Cook reached 100 wickets in Lancashire League matches for the season when he dismissed W Haworth, his 3rd wicket in the Enfield innings
The approaches to the ground were packed as a crowd estimated at around 10,000 battled with police officers and ticket collectors to gain admission.
Many, after getting their tickets at a box in the lane, scaled the walls to be sure of not missing the start.
The weather was unsettled with dark clouds threatening imminent rain, but there was to be no stoppage in play.
After the match, a large number of people went into town for refreshment as the Greyhound Hotel was besieged.
The gate was £128 16s (admittance fee 4d) and David Smalley received a collection of £11 14s for his batting.
