Notes
--> Rishton batted on after winning
--> R Lowe achieved his best innings bowling analysis in Lancashire League matches in the Burnley innings (previous best was 2-31)
--> R Lowe achieved his first five wickets in an innings in Lancashire League matches in the Burnley innings
The result was originally recorded as a tie but following an appeal to the MCC Rishton were awarded the match.
The controversery centered around a no ball bowled by Rishton professional SF Barnes from which 2 runs were scored from the bat. The umpires also instructed the scorers to award 1 extra for the no ball.
Mr Perkins from Lords ruled that only 2 runs should be scored to the credit of the striker and the no ball should not be reckoned.
