An unsatisfactory finish to this match when Germantown Second XI refused to continue after the Belmont Second XI captain, W.M.Cooper, had pointed out that Rule 9 stated play must continue. Although Belmont Second XI had a lead by runs at the time Germantown Second XI had a slightly better average and the umpires awarded the game to the latter. At the end of the season the result showed as undecided.
