AE Stoddart was seventh out, his kinnings taking six hours and ten minutes and included 1 eight, 3 fives and 64 fours. The innings of 813 for 9 took six hours fifteen minutes. 485 was then the highest score in all forms of cricket, beating Mr JS Carrick's 419* for West of Scotland v Priory Park in 1885. It was later beaten by AEJ Collins' 628* in 1899).
A Century later Stoics challenged Hampstead to a rematch under the 1886 Laws . Hampstead declined and Stoics won the match.
