RD Bowman and G Smith added 83 (undefeated) for the sixth wicket in the Otago B second innings
North Otago were given 70 minutes plus a minimum of 20 overs in the final hour to score 168 to win the match outright
North Otago needed 6 runs off the final over but Taiaroa was run out off the first ball and they lost their ninth wicket off the final ball of the match when the striker Nuttall swung at the ball but missed and took off for a run with the non-striker Robertson failing to beat the throw at the stumps by the wicket-keeper
