This rain-affected return match was drawn, with showers interrupting play on both days. Worcestershire had won the game between the two sides at Kidderminster in June. For Worcestershire, there was 1 seven, including four for an overthrow, 20 fours, 4 threes and 13 twos in Foster's 162, scored in three hours. It was a record score for the Championship, exceeding the 157 scored by C J T Pool for Northamptonshire v Durham at Northampton in May. Foster was to break the record again in his next Championship innings a week later against Hertfordshire. In the Worcestershire innings Foster and Fereday added 65 runs for the seventh wicket. For the home team, Hansell's 61 contained 10 fours.
