Rain caused the loss of two and a half hours of play on the second day of this drawn return match after Norfolk had followed-on 232 runs behind. The game at Bishop's Stortford in July had been won by Hertfordshire. Four of the visiting team scored half-centuries -- Titchmarsh 87 with 7 fours, Crawley 84 with 11 fours, White 56 with ? fours and Pigg 52 with ? fours. In the Hertfordshire innings, Titchmarsh and Crawley put on 156 runs for the third wicket. It was a new record for a third wicket partnership and the highest of the season. Titchmarsh also took 9 wickets in the match for 99 runs. For Norfolk, Bathurst top-scored with 56.
