This return match was won by Wiltshire at 5.30 pm on the second day, the game earlier in the month at Trowbridge having been drawn. Heavy overnight rain prevented play before 3.30 pm on the second day. Requiring 162 runs to win, Berkshire were dismissed in under an hour for 60 runs. For the winners, Miller took 11 wickets in the match for 89 runs, including 8 for 65 in the first innings, which was statistically the equal second-best innings bowling performance of the season. There were 15 fours in Stevens's 76. In the Wiltshire first innings Morres and Smart put on 50 runs for the eighth wicket. The 5 catches held by Smart in the match equalled the record for the competition set by C E Cobb of Buckinghamshire v Berkshire at Aylesbury the week before. For Berkshire, Dauglish's 54 included 9 fours. The Wiltshire Captain permitted H Barber of Newbury to replace L G A Collins in the Berkshire team after the latter split a finger in attempting to catch Radcliffe early in the Wiltshire first innings. The score at the time was 67-3 wickets.
