Worcestershire won this return match by 8 wickets on the second day, after Buckinghamshire followed on 127 runs behind. Worcestershire had also won the game between the two sides at Aylesbury in July. Heavy rainstorms restricted play before lunch on the second day to just half an hour. Worcestershire needed 55 runs to win in half an hour and obtained them with five minutes to spare. For the winners Arnold took 9 wickets in the match for 82 runs, including 7 for 35 in the Hertfordshire first innings, and E G Bromley-Davenport 9 for 53, including 7 for 48 in the second innings. Foster's 52 included 5 fours and when he reached 50 he became the first batsmen to score a thousand runs in th Championship. Arnold's 51 contained 3 fours. When dismissing his namesake, F N Bird, in the Buckinghamshire second innings, A Bird took his one hundredth wicket in the Championship. For Buckinghamshire, there were 2 fours in Gresson's 70 and 5 fours and 3 fours respectively in Cobb's two innings of 59 and 55. Worcestershire were already champions before this match was played.
[Missing: Umpires; part fall of wickets; in Worcestershire 1st inns the bowling analysis gives Wright and Allcock 4 wickets each yet match score gives Wright 5 and Allcock 3 - for the purpose of calculating the averages the former has been adopted; in Worcestershire 2nd inns extras breakdown.]
