This drawn match was dominated by bad weather. Rain interrupted the game on the Monday, and prevented the home team from beginning their innings, play being suspended for the day at 6.10 pm. On the second day, heavy showers prevented any play in the morning and, after an inspection at 3.00 pm, the match was abandoned. Newspaper reports indicate that during the Worcestershire innings 8 or 9 catches were missed. For the visitors, H K Foster's 75 contained 7 fours and occupied less than 1½ hours. Pool injured himself during the afternoon session of the first day when stumbling and falling fielding a hit from Jobson in the long field. He did not rise and had to be carried off the field. He was seen by two doctors in the pavilion and sent home in a cab. While Pool lay injured, the batsmen had run five runs. A new scoreboard had been erected on the ground, and for the first time scorecards were issued.
