This return match was drawn. The visitors had won the encounter between the two sides at Worcester in July. The match featured the three highest seventh wicket partnerships of the season. For Worcestershire, there was 1 six, 1 five and 17 fours in R E Foster's 147 not out, which was scored in under two hours. It was the third highest score by a batsman during the season.
The merit of this innings was somewhat reduced as Miller arranged that every member of the Wiltshire team bowled, the first time this had ever happened in a championship match.
Wilson's 80 not out contained 14 fours, and G E Bromley-Martin scored 52. In the visitors' first innings, E G Bromley-Martin and Bird added 80 for the seventh wicket. In the Worcestershire second innings, R E Foster and E G Bromley-Martin added 91 runs for the seventh wicket and Foster and Wilson had an unbroken stand of 156 for the ninth wicket, scored in just 90 minutes. The ninth wicket partnership was the largest of the season, while the two seventh wicket partnership were the highest and the third highest of the year. For the home team, Atfield scored 54 and Shorland 51. In the Wiltshire innings, Shorland and Atfield added 89 runs for the seventh wicket, the second highest partnership of the season for that wicket. In Wiltshire newspaper reports, Shorland played under the pseudonym 'A Butcher', but was Shorland in the Worcestershire papers. Newman kept wicket for Wiltshire when Smart temporarily retired after a ball hit his hand in the Worcestershire first innings.
[Missing: Extras breakdown; in Worcestershire 2nd inns threes and twos in R E Foster's 147 not out, boundaries in G E Bromley-Martin's 52, and fall of 4th and 5th wickets; in Wiltshire innings boundaries in Atfield's 54 and Shorland's 51.]
