This return game was drawn. Norfolk, after dismissing Cambridgeshire at 5.45pm for 148 in their second innings, needed 91 runs to win with 35 minutes of the game left. It was agreed to end the match at this stage. The meeting between the two teams at Norwich earlier in the month had also been drawn. For the visitors, Shore took 13 wickets in the match for 117 runs. There were 5 fours in Fryer's 66. The 6 dismissals by Blake were the joint highest by a wicket-keeper in a match during the season, W H Brain of Glamorgan having achieved the feat earlier in August against Northamptonshire at Northampton. For Cambridgeshire, Watts's 83 included 11 fours. Thomas kept wicket for Cambridgeshire when Watts bowled. When dismissing Ireland in the Norfolk innings, Bryan reached the career milestone of taking one hundred wickets for Cambridgeshire in championship matches.
