Surrey 2nd XI won this return match by 153 runs shortly before 5.00 pm on the second day.
The game at Exeter the previous week had been drawn.
For the winners, there was 1 six, 17 fours, 6 threes and 6 twos in Hayes 123, an innings of just under 2 hours.
Penfold scored 67 and Gillett 57, which included 6 fours.
In the Surrey first innings Penfold and Graburn added 109 runs for the sixth wicket and, in the second innings, Hayes and Gillett put on 161 for the second wicket in two hours.
The latter partnership was the highest for that wicket during the season.
Kersley took 10 wickets in the match for 66 runs, including 8 for 38 in the Devon second innings.
