This card comes from the Minor Counties Research Project - research is continuing on this scorecard which can be expected to change.
Northamptonshire won before lunch, which had been delayed, on the second day. For Northamptonshire, Thompson took 14 wickets in the match, including 9 for 61 in the Yorkshire first innings. There were 13 fours in Driffield's 81. In the Northanptonshire first innings, Wetherall and Driffield added 65 runs for the eighth wicket, and Driffield and Thorneycroft put on 70 runs for the last wicket. At the close of play on the first day, Swalwell was credited with a score of 7 not out. However, after discussions between the umpires and the scorers, this was amended to 11 not out to take account of 4 of his runs being mistakenly attributed to the extras total.
