Bedfordshire won by an innings at ? pm on the second day, after only losing three wickets in the match. Rain delayed the start of play until 2.25 pm on the first day and 12.00 pm on the second. There were ? fours, ? threes and ? twos in Peel's 107 not out, an innings of ? minutes. There were 5 fours in Wharmby's 80. In the home team's first innings, Peel and Wharmby put on 177 runs for the second wicket which was the third highest partnership for that wicket during the season. It was their second century partnership for that wicket during the season. In the second Bedfordshire innings, T A Brown scored the single needed for victory. However, as there was some doubt whether the winning run had been hit, A Rogers completed his over with a ball that Pepper hit for three. After lunch on the second day, H M Cantrell fielded as a substitute for Moss who was lame.
