Wiltshire won this return game by 7 wickets at 3.55 pm on the second day. Wiltshire had also won the match between the two sides at Newport at the beginning of the month and thus completed 'the double' over the Welsh County. For the home side, Ransome top-scored with 47. For Monmouthshire, Steeples took 7 wickets for 48 runs in the Wiltshire first innings. In dismissing E S Phillips in the visitors' second innings, Overton took his hundredth wicket for the County in all matches. Later in the innings, he was unfortunate to suffer a multiple fracture of the right thumb when fielding a return and was taken to the GWR surgery at Swindon for repairs.
