A drawn return match with Suffolk taking 2 points for gaining first innings lead. The Suffolk declaration left Staffordshire 2½ hours to bat to save the match, but bad light ended play early at 6.00 pm. Staffordshire had won the game between the two teams at Stoke in June. For the home team, Gorell-Barnes scored the first century for Suffolk in the competition. His 136 contained 11 fours, 10 threes and 15 twos. There were 8 fours in C S Wilson's 93, scored in 3 hours, 9 fours in Dewing's 88 not out, and 10 fours in H L Wilson's 68. In the Suffolk innings, Gorell-Barnes and C S Wilson added 192 runs for the third wicket and Dewing and H L Wilson 124 for the fifth. Cobbold took 9 wickets in the match for 121 runs. His 68.4 overs were the most bowled in a match during the season, and 27 maidens the third most bowled in a match. Mee's 62 for Staffordshire included 6 fours. The Suffolk total of 459 for 6 wickets declared was the third highest of the season.
[Missing: In Staffordshire first innings fall of eighth wicket; in Suffolk innings duration of Gorell-Barnes's 136.]
