Surrey 2nd XI won this return match by an innings and 80 runs on
the second day, after enforcing the follow-on. The match between the two teams at Stourbridge in June had also been won by Surrey 2nd XI. Rain prevented the start until 1.15 pm on the first day, and bad light stopped play at 4.00 pm. For the winners, there were 6 fours and 4 threes in Baker's 106. Hitch, who was making his debut, took 11 wickets in the match for 60 runs. For the losers Hiatt's 45 was the top score.
