Yorkshire 2nd XI won this return match by an innings and 91 runs at 4.20 pm on the second day. The match between the two teams at Wakefield in June had been drawn. For the winners, there were 1 five and 10 fours in Rudston's 85 and 6 fours in Grimshaw's 69. Together, they put on 141 runs in the Yorkshire 2nd XI innings for the second wicket. Leyland took 10 wickets in the match for 63 runs. Rain delayed the start on the second day until noon. Newspaper reports indicate that the drying wicket became increasingly difficult to bat on.
