Devon won this return match by ten wickets on the second day. The match between the two sides at Camborne in July had been won by Devon in a single day. For the winners, Light's 156 was scored in two hours and included 6 sixes and 21 fours. He also took 9 wickets in the match for 71 runs. Sturt scored 66 not out. In the Devon first innings Sturt and Tamworth added 56 runs for the ninth wicket. For Cornwall, Rogers scored 72 and Tresawna 64. Devon needed 5 runs to win in their second innings and they were obtained with a wide and four byes.
