Northumberland won by ten wickets on the second day. The start of the Cheshire first innings was delayed half an hour by rain. For the winners, Elsey took 10 wickets in the match for 82 runs. There were 2 sixes and 8 fours in Norbury's 92 and 1 six and 11 fours in Gillespie's 77. Norbury and Davis added 112 for the 1st wicket in the Northumberland first innings. For Cheshire, there were 12 fours in Mason's 95 not out and Holland scored 50. In the Cheshire second innings, Killick and Moorhouse added 41 runs for the last wicket in fifteen minutes
The Cheshire team in their second match contained only two players -- MacLaren and Hunter - who had played in their previous match.
