Monmouthshire won by an innings and 43 runs on the second day, after Carmarthenshire followed on 141 runs behind on first innings. The match was notable for the all round performance of Silverlock, who scored a century, and took 14 wickets. His 112 included 2 sixes, 14 fours and 10 twos, and he had scored 92 not out when lunch was taken on the first day. His 14 wickets in the match for 81 runs, including 8 for 27 in the Carmarthenshire second innings, was statistically the second best match bowling performance of the season. Driver scored 58. In the Monmouthshire innings, Silverlock and Maltby put on 127 runs for the first wicket.
