This match was drawn with Norfolk winning on first innings. The Suffolk declaration set Norfolk a victory target of 102 runs in an hour and 20 minutes, and they ended up 4 runs short with two wickets to fall. Some reports suggest stumps were drawn two minutes early. The cricket on the first day was limited to two sessions of 12 minutes, with no play after 3.00 pm. For the home team, Raikes took 11 wickets in the match for 66, including 9 wickets for 24 in the Suffolk innings, which was statistically the third best innings bowling performance of the season. Thursby top-scored with 39, which included 6 fours. For Suffolk, Penfold took 11 wickets in the match for 59 runs. F T D Wilson's 80 contained 2 sixes and 8 fours. The Suffolk side showed 7 changes in personnel compared with the one that lost to Lincolnshire at Lincoln in their previous match. In the Suffolk first innings, Lewis was batting when the first stoppage took place and as the shower was a heavy one it was decided to take lunch. Lewis left the ground and, as a thunderstorm happened when he was in the city, he concluded play would not restart for some time. A resumption was made before he returned to the ground and C S Wilson went in to bat in his place. The Norfolk captain permitted Lewis to restart his innings at the fall of the fourth wicket.
[Missing: Extras breakdown; in Suffolk first innings fall of eighth and ninth wickets; in Suffolk second innings fall of sixth wicket.]
