Glamorgan won this return match by 96 runs before 6.00 pm on the second day, after the Glamorgan declaration left Monmouthshire a victory target of 274 runs in 3½ hours. The match between the two sides at Newport at the beginning of July had also been won by Glamorgan. The first over of the match bowled by F G Phillips saw Glamorgan lose three wickets for no runs, wickets falling to the first, fourth and fifth balls. For the winners, there were 11 fours in Whittington's 78, 1 six and 8 fours in Bancroft's 61, 5 fours in Rees's 55, and Gibbs scored 53 not out and Maxwell 50 not out. In the Glamorgan first innings Whittington and Maxwell added 107 for the seventh wicket, and in second innings Rees and Bancroft put on 115 runs for the second wicket. For the losers, F G Phillips played two innings of 66 with 10 fours and 85 with 12 fours. Diver scored 62. In the Monmouthshire first innings F G Phillips and Diver added 97 runs for the fifth wicket, and in the second innings Silverlock and F G Phillips put on 99 runs for the fifth wicket.
