Northumberland won by 173 runs at 4.00 pm on the second day having bowled Norfolk out in 90 minutes. For the winners Norbury's innings of 74 lasted for 54 minutes and contained 2 sixes, 1 five and 10 fours. Nesbit's score of 79 contained 13 fours whilst Herriott's innings of 52 contained 7 fours. Gillespie's innings of 71 lasted for 70 minutes and contained 1 five and 12 fours. For the losers, Falcon's 50 contained nine fours whilst Fulcher's 68, an innings of 40 minutes, contained three sixes and nine fours. In the Norfolk first innings 93 runs were added for the seventh wicket by Treglown and Fulcher. Norfolk's overnight score had been given as 218 and was adjusted when it was realised that a hit by Fulcher originally scored as a four was in fact a six.
