This return match was drawn, with Norfolk winning on first innings. The match between the two sides at St Albans in July had been won by Hertfordshire. Hertfordshire were set 346 to win in 3 hours 10 minutes and finished 29 runs short. For Norfolk there were 15 fours and five threes in Birkbeck's 108 and 15 fours in Stevens' 98.
In the Norfolk first innings Birkbeck and Raikes added 101 runs for the fifth wicket. Raikes, who arrived late obliging Birkbeck to toss, took 6 wickets for 79 runs in the Hertfordshire first innings. For Hertfordshire Grellet's 75 contained 1 six and 13 fours, Golding's 63 contained 10 fours and Titchmarsh's 100 contained 17 fours and 4 threes. Burton took 9 wickets for 171 runs in the match.
