Kent won this match by 114 runs at ten minutes past 4 pm on the second day, rain having delayed the start until 4.15 pm on the first day. For the winners, Jennings top-scored with 55 which was the only half-century of the match. Only two Cornwall batsman reached double figures; there were eleven 'ducks' in the match, seven in their first innings, and three batsmen recorded 'a pair' (Trevarthen, Hawken and Whiting). Whiting took 10 wickets for 68 runs in the match, including 6 wickets for 29 in Kent's first innings whilst Escott took 6 wickets for 42 in Kent's second innings. Preston took 12 wickets for 35 runs in the match, with 6 for 15 in Cornwall's first innings, including 4 wickets in successive balls (Vibart, Trevarthen, Holman and Hawken), and 6 for 20 in their second.
