For the winners, Carroll top-scored with 232, an innings of 4¼ hours which contained 36 fours. It was one short of the Devon record set by E W Burdett in 1911. Light scored 54 and Davies' 51 not out came in 15 minutes. Carroll and Light added 114 runs for the third wicket and Carroll and Ball 123 for the sixth wicket. Wreford took 7 wickets for 39 runs in Berkshire's first innings whilst Light took 5 wickets for 64 in their second.
