This return match was drawn with Devon winning on first innings. The Devon declaration left the visitors 2¾ hours to score 262 runs to win but some rain breaks reduced the actual playing time. The match between the two sides at Camborne in July had also been drawn, but with Cornwall winning on first innings. On the second day, overnight rain left the pitch resembling a quagmire. The captains agreed to a fresh pitch being prepared, and a delayed start was made at noon. For the home side, Knight scored 64 and Sturt 59. Preedy took 8 wickets for 80 runs in the match. For the visitors, Whiting took 10 wickets for 112 runs in the match, including 5 wickets for 59 in Devon's first innings and 5 for 53 in their second. Barnes scored 78 not out in the first innings and Vibart 65 in the second.
