Kent won the return match easily at 3 pm on the second day, just before heavy rain set in. They had also triumphed easily at Truro earlier in the season. In their first innings Collins scored 72, including 10 fours, the only half-century in the match. Whiting recorded figures of 13 wickets for 139 in the match, including 8 for 80 in Kent's first innings and 5 for 59 in their second. For Kent Freeman took 10 wickets for 52 runs in the match, including 5 for 22 in Cornwall's first innings and 5 for 30 in their second. Tresawna top-scored in both Cornwall's innings with knocks of 43 and 30. There were 6 'ducks' in Cornwall's second innings.
[Missing: Toss; umpires; extras breakdown; close of play not out batsmen and scores; both second innings batting order; in Kent's 1st innings all sources give Whiting bowling 32.5 overs with the rest bowling only 30 between them.]
