Buckinghamshire won this return match by 8 wickets on the second day. For the winners there were 12 fours in Le Gros's 73, 9 fours in Frith's 61 and Adams scored an unbeaten 61. Sewell took 10 wickets in the match for 175 runs, including 5 for 85 runs in Berkshire's first innings during which he bowled unchanged and 5 for 90 in their second. For the losers Wynyard scored 53 whilst Hawksworth, with his medium-slow accurate bowling, took all 10 wickets for 97 runs whilst bowling throughout Buckinghamshire's first innings. This feat was the first time a Berkshire player had taken all ten wickets in an innings and has not been equalled since.
