A disappointing draw was the result of a game which had the North been more enterprising on the last afternoon they might have snatched a surprise victory. Perhaps because of the recent bad run of results the North did not quite believe they were capable of victory but they only had 66 runs to win with four wickets in hand and an unbroken partnership of 86 for the seventh wicket in progress. Once again the South won the toss and had over a hundred on the board for the second match in succession with Ferguson with 6 x 4's and Gibson again making light of the North attack. Apart from Forrester the middle order failed to shine and 286 was the result of the 99.5 overs. Again the early North batting failed against Douglas Annand and at 6 for three they were struggling. However the middle order played up well and they finished 95 behind. For South in the second innings Ferguson again played well hitting 5 x 4's and a six his 52 being the seventh time in nine innings that he had passed the fifty mark. The North really had plenty of time to win the match but negative early batting left too much to be done .
