The North Queensland top order batsmen all made a start but did not continue and the innings was held together, firstly by Law who hit eight fours in 112 minutes, and in the lower order by Griggs who batted 153 minutes and hit fifteen boundaries. Griggs and Minniecon added 73 runs for the tenth wicket in 52 minutes with Minniecon striking five fours. South Queensland collapsed and the fifth wicket fell at 13. Fry was sixth out at 43 and Krause followed at 49. Bell and White then took the score to 104, White batting in all for two hours and hitting eight fours. After his first innings duck James played well in the second innings, hitting six fours. The South Queensland batting and the North Queensland bowling each add to 144 but the margin is listed as being 127 runs.
