Cambridgeshire won this match by ten wickets on the second day. For the winners, there were 5 fours in both K G Reid's 60 and L J Reid's 56. In the Cambridgeshire first innings these two batsmen put on 111 for the first wicket, and C Pigg and Bellars added 59 for the last wicket. Cambridgeshire needed just 1 run to win in their second innings, and the Reid brothers came out padless and F H Mustard, the Suffolk Captain, bowled a wide. The 25 maidens bowled in the match by Coulson were the joint second highest number during the season. In the Suffolk first innings, Trudgett was hit on the first finger of his right hand and was forced to retiron 3 not out and the total 131. He returned to bat at the fall of the ninth wicket. He bowled one over in the Cambridgeshire innings, but his hand which had been stitched up by Tebbutt opened and started to bleed freely. He was taken to hospital and took no further part in the match. T S W Thomas fielded as substitute.
[Missing: Umpires; extras breakdown; in Suffolk first innings fall of second and seventh wickets; precise time completed.]
