This card comes from the Minor Counties Research Project - research is continuing on this scorecard which can be expected to change.
Cambridgeshire won by an innings and 135 runs shortly before 2.00 pm on the second day, after Hertfordshire followed on 233 runs behind. The match between the two sides at Bishop's Stortford in July had been won by Hertfordshire. For the winners, Reid's 221 was the second highest score of the season and were also the second highest number of runs scored by a batsman in a match. His innings lasted four hours and 5 minutes and contained 5 fives, 28 fours and 12 threes.
C H Pigg's 76 included 7 fours. In the Cambridgeshire innings Reid and C H Pigg added 152 runs for the fifth wicket. The 154 runs conceded by White were the most in an innings during the season. Hertfordshire were considerably handicapped by Coleman suffering an acute attack of lumbago which limited him to bowling just 12 overs at the start of the Cambridgeshire innings and prevented him batting in either innings.
[Missing: Umpires; Hertfordshire wicket-keeper; extras breakdown; part fall of wickets; in Cambridgeshire innings twos in L J Reid's innings of 221 and who held substitute catch; in Hertfordshire second innings batting order.]
