This rain-affected match was drawn after Cambridgeshire followed on 109 runs behind. On the first day, only around half-an-hour's play was possible after the start shortly before noon. Because of the reputation of the ground for drying quickly, play for the day was not finally abandoned until 5.15 pm. On the second day play began at 11.00 am, and when six wickets were down for 77 runs in the Cambridgeshire second innings the prospects of a Suffolk victory appeared good. However, Watts and Hart then had an unbroken partnership of 49 runs, staying together until the close of play. Watts innings of 34 not out was the highest of the match. For Suffolk, Trudgett and Penfold both took 8 wickets in the match, for 100 runs and 68 runs respectively.
[Missing: Extras breakdown; in Suffolk innings fall of fifth and sixth wickets; in Cambridgeshire first innings fall of eighth wicket.]
