The match was for the benefit of G E Wharmby. Bedfordshire won by an innings and 16 runs at 3.10 pm on the second day after Cambridgeshire followed on 105 runs behind on first innings. Rain on the first day delayed the start until 2.30 pm. For the winners, Morcom took ten wickets in the match for 85 runs. There were 9 fours in beneficiary Wharmby's 87 not out, an innings of almost 2½ hours. In the Bedfordshire innings, Wharmby and Grierson put on 56 runs for the last wicket.
