This return match was drawn after Cambridgeshire followed on 223 runs behind on first innings. The match between the two sides at Luton the week before had also been drawn with Bedfordshire leading on first innings. There was 1 five and 9 fours in Morcom's 134 not out, scored in 3¼ hours, 12 fours
in Wharmby's 105, scored in just under 2 hours, and 5 fours and 8 threes in Holdstock's 103, an innings of 2½ hours. In the Bedfordshire innings, Holdstock and Morcom put on 130 runs for the fifth wicket, and Morcom and Wharmby added 176 runs for the sixth wicket. For the visitors, there were 11 fours in L J Reid's 82 and 9 fours in Ling's 79 and B W Pigg scored 70 not out. In the Cambridgeshire first innings, B W Pigg and Coulson added 52 runs for the tenth wicket, and in the second innings, L J Reid and Ling put on 178 runs for the first wicket. A recurrence of a strain prevented Wharmby taking the field after lunch on the second day and E Rogers fielded in his place.
